China's ambassador to Denmark pressured the Faroe Islands to hire telecommunications giant Huawei to build a 5G network, according to a newspaper report in the Scandinavian country.
Danish telecom group TDC has chosen Swedish firm Ericsson over existing provider Huawei to roll out its ultra-fast 5G mobile network across the country, as a debate rages over security concerns surrounding the Chinese giant.
Denmark has ordered the expulsion of two employees of Chinese telecoms giant Huawei because their residence and work permits were not in order, Copenhagen police said Monday.
