A 29-year-old man from Ishøj has been charged with promoting a terror organisation called ‘Terrorgram’ via the encrypted messaging service Telegram.

He is suspected of sharing and facilitating the sharing of far-right extremist propaganda in over 1,000 instances using 13 different profiles, groups, and channels on Telegram, it emerged during a preliminary court hearing at the Glostrup District Court on Tuesday afternoon.

The man faces charges under section 114e of the Danish criminal code, which relates to promoting terror. The charges are based on nine counts of offences committed between June 14th, 2023, and his arrest on Monday evening.

According to the charges, he ran social media groups and enabled posts promoting "white terror."

In one instance, he is accused of sharing the name and logo of Terrorgram along with the number 88, which is commonly associated with neo-Nazi symbolism.

One of the nine charges involves an audio file that the man is accused of sharing on his Telegram channel.

The 29-year-old allegedly encouraged listeners not to be killed but instead to present themselves as someone capable of killing.

“These people need to f*cking fear you,” the audio reportedly states according to the charges.

The man was arrested on Monday evening following extended investigations by the Danish police intelligence service PET.

News wire Ritzau reported earlier on Tuesday that he has been linked to a nationalist group called Folkets Flamme ("The People’s Flame"), which has previously arranged right-wing demonstrations in Denmark.

He also has close ideological links to an individual known in Denmark from public debate, Ritzau reported.
