US citizens who live abroad are entitled to vote in the upcoming presidential election, and as such can play a role in determining whether the next president will be Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.
Figures from national agency Statistics Denmark show that at least 8,500 US nationals over the age of 18 are registered as resident in Denmark and are eligible to vote in the election.

That figure does not include dual nationals of Denmark and the United States who would also be able to vote if registered to do so in the US, because the Danish data bank classifies them as Danes.
No data exists on the exact number of Danish-based Americans who voted in the 2020 election.
Turnout in US elections is generally lower than it is in Denmark. The 2020 US election had a turnout of 67 percent, while the Danish general election in 2022 saw participation from 84 percent of voters.
