Danish boy feared drowned in France
A family holiday took a tragic turn for a Danish family when an 11-year-old fell off a pedal boat.
An 11-year-old Danish boy is feared dead after a tragic accident in France, French media reported on Tuesday.
According to the reports, the boy was riding a pedal boat with his family on the Lac de Saint-Cassien lake near Cannes when he fell overboard on Monday.
Divers were scouring the 20 to 30-metre deep lake for the second straight day on Tuesday but as of noon the boy had not been found.
A police spokesman told the French paper Var-Martin that the boy may have hit his head when he fell out of the boat.
The Danish Foreign Ministry told Jyllands-Posten on Tuesday that they had not heard anything about the incident and therefore could not give any further information.
