These two guys won't be around for season two, but Danish director Janus Metz will be.
Danish filmmaker Janus Metz will direct an episode of the second season of the popular HBO crime series True Detective, the Danish Film Institute announced.
Metz is best known for his documentary Armadillo, which chronicles the lives of Danish soldiers in Afghanistan.
According to the Danish Film Institute, Metz will direct episode three of True Detective’s second season, which will premiere in the summer.
Metz was given the directorial gig by series creator Nic Pizzolatto, who was in Denmark last year for a special screening of True Detective at the home of US Ambassador Rufus Gifford.
True Detective’s second season will star Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams. It will take on a completely new story line than that of the first season, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and attracted some 12 million viewers.
