Denmark's prime minister or celebrity? Hard to tell in this video footage of Chinese students' over-the-top greeting.
Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt was greeted by a very enthusiastic and well-prepared crowd at a Beijing school on Friday.
In China to promote Chinese-Danish business relations, the PM was treated like a rock star by cheering students.
Waving Danish and Chinese flags, the children chanted "We love you" in both English and Danish as Thorning-Schmidt smiled and waved.
The prime minister was not the only Danish woman to receive adoration from the Chinese students. In a video posted on the Instagram account of DR’s Asia correspondent, Philip Khokhar, children can also be seen holding signs declaring their love for the Little Mermaid.
