Mother gets 11 years in prison for killing son

A bitter custody battle led an Aalborg woman to strangle her four-year-old son. She was found guilty in an Aalborg court on Tuesday.
On December 16th 2013, Aalborg mother Lise Balling strangled her four-year-old son Rasmus to death. On Tuesday, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison. According to a report from BT, Balling was also stripped of the right to any inheritance or insurance payments connected to her son’s death. The tabloid reports that prior to killing her son, Balling and her ex-husband were involved in a bitter custody battle over Rasmus. She allegedly killed her son after it was decided that the four-year-old boy would spend Christmas with his father in Frederiksberg.
