Before heading to the top of the tower, be sure to take your time exploring other parts of Christiansborg - it's full of all sorts of gems.Photo: Justin Cremer
With the opening of the tower, all of Copenhagen's residents and visitors can take in previously-unseen views of the city. Photo: Justin Cremer
On the way to the top, one finds an assortment of statues and figures previously unseen by the public.Photo: Justin Cremer

Although you can't read it from this height, the back of the statue of King Frederik VII in front of Christiansborg has a beautifully simple inscription: Født (Born) 1808. Konge (King) 1848. Død (Died) 1863Photo: Justin Cremer
To the east, one sees the spire tower of Børsen and Christianshavn. Photo: Justin Cremer
On a clear day (and hey, it's Denmark so there might not be many of those), one can see all the way east to Sweden.Photo: Justin Cremer
To the northwest, one can see past Højbro Plads to the pedestrian shopping street Strøget.Photo: Justin Cremer
If you squint, you can make out the Øresund Bridge. Photo: Justin Cremer
Having taken in several other tower views throughout Copenhagen, The Local's final verdict is that Christiansborg's tower is a solid addition to the list of the city's must-see viewpoints.
