Wafande, DR Koncerthuset, October 4th, 9pm
Danish–Tanzanian reggae sensation Wafande is now big enough to fill prestigious venues such as DR's concert hall. His recent spat with Danish People's Party leader Pia Kjærsgaard seems only to have fuelled his ambitions. Photo: overspring.dk
Samsaya, Rust, October 4th, 9pm
Samsaya is Norway's M.I.A, albeit way more pop-inclined than her British counterpart. She's been compared to the likes of Lady Gaga and Gwen Stefani at such an early stage in her career, so expect to be blown away. Photo: Samsaya PR
Blackbird Blackbird, Ideal Bar, October 7th, 9pm
San Francisco–based Mickey Maramag, aka Blackbird Blackbird, brings a waft of warm synthpop brilliance to Copenhagen. With influences from acts such as Four Tet, Blackbird Blackbird is synthpop with an epic conductor at the helm. Photo: Blackbird Blackbird PR
Tako Lako, Lille Vega, October 9th, 9pm
Tako Lako burst onto the Danish scene with plenty of bluster in their guns a couple of years ago. Since then they have remained at the top of their game, complementing the release of their debut album Through The Mud with Pusle Riddle, their second masterpiece in as many years. Angelique Kidjo, Amager Bio, October 11th, 9pm
Benin–born Angelique Kidjo's music is the sort you hear in your typical Hollywood contemplative movie moment. Graced with a cognac-coaxed voice and backed by soft, tribal–sounding instrumentation, hers is a music that spellbinds and entertains at the same time. Photo: Angelique Kidjo PR
Buraka Som Sistema, Pumpehuset, October 11th, 9pm
Lisbon–based Buraka are a force to be reckoned with. Pumping out a lethal dose of kuduro influenced music, they have gone from being experimental underdogs to global pioneers of a whole new music genre that is steadily gaining worldwide acclaim. Photo: Allan Mutuku Kortbaek
Kill J, Ideal Bar, October 17th, 8pm
Kill J will become massive in years to come, make no mistake about it. The young Danish starlet is already creating ripples in England, where she's been billed as a name to watch by both The Guardian and Radio One. See her now before she blows up.Photo: Kill J PR
Bottled In England, Pumpehuset, October 18th, 9pm
Pumpehuset's second booking on our list is nothing less than pure bass genius. Bottled in England have yet to break the threshold of being billed as an interesting underground act, but as those who've seen them live will attest, they deserve way more cred. Photo: Bottled in England PR
Reptile Youth, Store Vega, October 20th, 8pm
You'll probably recognise them from the popular Shooting up Sunshine track that's gained airplay on many a Danish commercial. Reptile Youth hit the Danish scene with a mesmeric performance at Roskilde Festival's Pavilion Junior a few years back and haven't stopped since. Photo: Reptile Youth PR
Giana Factory, Lille Vega, October 30th, 9pm
Giana Factory are a melancholic and airy atmospheric electropop trio who've been strutting their stuff on the local scene for quite some time now. Their latest album Lemon Moon dropped earlier this year and has quickly gained repute amongst bloggers and music reviewers. Photo: Giana Factory PR
