The figure is a slight increase and returns to three figures after a drop on Wednesday.

Yesterday's number of new infected was 85, the first time the daily total had dropped to under 100 since August 9th.

But today's figure is back over the 100 mark.

Of the 116 new cases of infection, 21 are in Aarhus, 18 in Copenhagen and 8 in Odense, while 2 were registered in Silkeborg.

Four new hospitalisations give a total of 20 Covid-19-infected inpatients in Danish hospitals. Of these, one person is in intensive care and receiving ventilator treatment.

No coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. Denmark's death toll from the virus is 621.
