VIDEO: Tivoli ride named best in Europe
Take a virtual ride on the Vertigo, which was crowned the best amusement ride in Europe.
Europe’s best amusement park ride is in Copenhagen. Tivoli’s Vertigo was named the best amusement park attraction in Europe and given the European Star Award for 2014 by the German trade industry magazine The Kirmes & Park Revue. Vertigo offers a head-spinning ride in one of two airplanes that reach speeds of up to 100 km/h and a g-force of 5.2. The ride opened in 2009 and has become one of Tivoli’s most popular attractions. “That Vertigo was named Europe’s best ride is something we are tremendously proud of and unbelievably happy about. It is the craziest ride that we have. And it’s unique. You’d have to go all the way to Italy to find one similar,” Tivoli spokesman Jacob Helenius said in a statement. Although Tivoli recently closed for the season, it will reopen for Halloween for three weeks beginning on October 10th. Until then, you can take a virtual spin on Vertigo below.
